On the Hunt
First and foremost, don’t forget that next Sunday, May 14 is Mothers’ Day. If you haven’t thought about Mother’s Day, start now! It is time to be on the hunt for the perfect way to thank your mother for her love and support. I thought of something last week for my mother; having a gift ready 10 days in advance is a new record for me!
Also we are on the hunt for a new music director at Immaculate Conception and St. Lawrence. Nate Hanson has played the organ at these two parishes for the last two years and he has done a wonderful job. He graduates from high school this month and in August he plans to go to college to study organ performance. He is still available until he departs for college, however we wanted to begin the search as soon as possible, so that we hopefully don’t have to scramble half way through the summer. Please pray that the Lord sends the right person to lead the music. It isn’t easy to find someone, but I’m sure that God has someone in mind. Please join me in thanking Nate for his years of service, and join me in asking God to fill this void.
Finally, we are on the hunt for anyone who wants to restart a liturgical ministry, like lector, usher, altar server, or Communion distributor. With the Mass schedule change last July, a handful of ministers decided to step down from their ministry. This happened particularly at St. John and St. Lawrence. If you would like to be back on the schedule for July 1, 2023, please contact Bobbi Donovan in the parish office to state your preferences. Parishioners at Immaculate Conception can expect an email to state their preference (either 4:00pm Saturday or 10:30am Sunday).
Just as a reminder, beginning July 1, 2023 the Mass schedule will change to the following:
Saturday
4:00pm Immaculate Conception
4:30pm St. Joseph
Sunday
8:00am St. John
8:30am St. Lawrence
10:00am St. Joseph
10:30am Immaculate Conception
Hopefully you received an email a couple weeks ago about Sunday Evening Mass in our Deanery. Thank you to everyone who completed the survey. The priests of the deanery will be meeting in a couple weeks to discuss the survey and, hopefully, come up with a solution. Keep us in your prayers.
Sincerely in Christ,
Fr. Sean Wilson
