Petersburg Parishes Vision & Mission
Who Are We?
We are four neighboring Roman Catholic parishes that form a family of parishes and function as a team. We collaborate in pastoral leadership, vision, administration, formation, evangelization, service, and major celebrations. We retain individual parishes through four places of worship, distinct finances, four campuses with CCD programs, and parish-based social activities.
Why Do We Exist?
We exist so that the deepest longings of the people can be met by the deepest longings of Jesus Christ.
In a beautiful way, we worship God the Father through Jesus Christ and in the Holy Spirit according to the rites of the Roman Catholic Church. We welcome and encourage people to actively participate in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.
We proclaim and propose the fundamental Christian message: redemption in Jesus Christ through his life, death, and resurrection. We invite those who are not Christian or not practicing a faith, to a relationship with Christ. We accompany God’s people when they are in most need of the Father’s love through the corporal and spiritual works of mercy.
We nourish believers and encourage their growth as disciples of Jesus Christ. We form disciples in the sacraments, prayer, virtue, and catechesis. Essential aspects of this formation are Eucharistic Adoration, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, the Word of God, and devotion to Mary.
