Looking to the Cross
Parishioners at Immaculate Conception have probably noticed that there is a new crucifix above the tabernacle in the Church. The former crucifix wasn’t very noticeable and the body of Christ didn’t not match much else in the Church.
The new crucifix isn’t actually new. It was already in the Church and was hanging in the northeast staircase. The same artist that repainted the statues in the Church also repainted the body of Christ so that it matched the other statues and again he did a fabulous job. Also I would like to thank Chris Brown and everyone at Brown industrial. They designed and fabricated the bracket for the crucifix.
Hopefully by the time you read this, progress has been made on the windows at Immaculate Conception. Unfortunately our contractor, Window Creations, has struggled to receive materials. Like every other industry, it has been difficult for them to acquire metal, glass, and other materials.
On a different note, as you know we have been looking for a couple new team members at our parishes. We have hired Valerie Christman as the Coordinator for Youth Communication and Hospitality. She’ll be working a lot behind the scenes to ensure that our youth programs run smoothly.
Also, we are looking to hire a Junior High Youth Minister. After a couple interviews and lots of prayer and discernment, this position hasn’t been filled. I know that God is at work here. He has constantly moved people into the right position and presented the apostles to carry out His mission. I am curious what God is going to do here, but I trust that He is leading us. If you know someone who might be good in this role, feel free to have them give me a call or talk to Angie Soules.
Many of our youth and some adult chaperones attended the Steubenville Mid America Youth Conference last weekend. Fr. Jedidiah also got to go with the group. I heard that it was a very powerful experience for many of our young people. It seems very clear that God is at work. He wants to draw people to Himself. Please pray for all those who attended. May the Holy Spirit continue to work in their lives!
Sincerely in Christ,
Fr. Sean Wilson
