Coming Soon to a Parish Near You
A couple weeks (maybe months) ago in the bulletin, I informed everyone that Cindy Quellhorst will be retiring this spring. Her position was posted in the bulletin and we received a handful of applicants. It is with great joy that I get to inform you that we have hired a new Business Manager and he began this week. His name is John Borger. He grew up in Mercer County and his accounting career took him to different cities. He worked for Proctor and Gamble for a number of years. I am incredibly excited to have John on our team. He seems to be a great fit. Please welcome him and introduce yourself.
With his hire, Cindy Quellhorst will be transitioning into retirement. She has faithfully served our parishes for years as the Business Manager. She will still be present as a parishioner. Cindy will be present to train John for the next couple of months. Please congratulate Cindy and thank her for her service to our parishes.
In other big news, last week Pastoral Council discussed Mass times during their March 1 meeting. After over an hour of discussion, consideration, and voting, the following weekend Mass schedule will go into effect on July 1, 2023. If you would like to schedule a Mass intention, you can call the parish office to schedule the intention. The daily Mass schedule will remain the same.

I could write pages about how the Council came to this decision. However, at the end of the discussion, this schedule was nearly unanimously selected over the two other options. If you would like to hear a further discussion about the schedule, please attend our Open Forum on March 30 at 7pm at St. Joseph in the Parish Life Center.
You may notice that there is no Sunday evening Mass scheduled. We are working to find a creative solution for those who need to attend a Sunday evening Mass. If we can find a solution for a Sunday Evening Mass, more details will be forthcoming.
Another Mass-related item, the Archdiocese asked every parish to double-check its seating capacity. They asked us to calculate 27” per person in pews. This slightly changed our seating capacities to St. Joseph – 538, Immaculate Conception – 366, St. John – 197, St. Lawrence – 189.
Finally, our confession schedule beginning July 1, 2023 will be:

Thank you very much for your prayers and feedback. Have a blessed Lent.
Sincerely in Christ,
Fr. Sean Wilson
